standard of creativity. It is necessary to develop an idea of what creativity is all
about. Let us ask the interesting question whom should we consider as more
creative a scientist or a painter? To better appreciate it, let us ask a complex
question who should we consider more creative Albert Einstein or Leonardo da
Vinci?
Many experts considered that the paintings of Leonardo da Vinci are gold
standard of creativity. The Mona Lisa is one of the most famous and enigmatic
paintings in the world. There are many mysteries surrounding it, such as the
identity of the sitter, the meaning of her smile, the reason why Leonardo kept
the painting for himself, and the possible hidden messages or symbols in the
painting. Some authors, like Walter Isaacson, have explored these mysteries and
tried to understand the genius and creativity of Leonardo da Vinci, who was not
only a master painter, but also a scientist, engineer, inventor, and philosopher.
Leonardo da Vinci had extraordinary ability to COMBINE ART AND

IDEALISM, BEAUTY AND KNOWLEDGE. He was a pioneer of many
artistic techniques, such as perspective, chiaroscuro (in art, is the use of strong

composition.), sfumato (the technique of allowing tones and colours to shade
gradually into one another, producing softened outlines or hazy forms.), and
anatomical accuracy. He also experimented with different media, such as oil,
tempera (painting executed with pigment ground in a water-miscible. medium.),
and fresco (the traditional medium for painting directly onto a wall or ceiling,
surviving in the prehistoric cave mural decorations and perfected in the 16th-
century Italy in the buon’fresco method.). He was constantly curious and
innovative, seeking to understand the natural world and to express his vision of it in his paintings. His paintings are considered to be among the greatest
achievements of human creativity and culture.
