Why should one prefer a noisy inefficient way of making progress as is indeed the case of a democracy?
To many it seems obvious that a single minded, decisive leader at top will bring about prosperity faster.
But it is NOT TRUE.
To many, holding election every now and then sometimes assembly other times Parliament, falling governments, no confidence motions all appear as unnecessary waste of time.
But even this is NOT TRUE.
The point is when dealing with complex living systems, whether a patient or community or society the outcome of our actions is highly dependent on the order in which the task are taken and no one can be sure which is the one task which should have the highest priority. So it can only be by trial and correcting course and a democracy is best suited for it.
